Thanks to being descendants of people, who, only five generations ago, didn't own anything because they themselves were property, and, after Emancipation, were tormented and immiserated by the white majority through means both legal and extra-legal, Black Americans are more likely to be poor than any other ethnic group in the United States.
These facts are the reason why the IDW and its race pseudoscience allies deny Black history and why they hate the 1619 project so much.
